Scenario:

The use of robotics in organisations is widespread in 2004.

A robot consists of 3 basic parts:

A sensor to capture information from the environment it works in,
A microprocessor to process information from the sensor and from instructions,
An actuator that moves the robot, or changes the environment it works in.

Task:

Choose one topic from the following three to research on:

• A robot operating in a manufacturer's assembly line, used for mass production,
• A robot operating in an environment that is dangerous to humans,
• A robot operating in an operating room of a hospital.

You will need to consider:

• What duties the robot you have chosen does,
• Why the robot is used,
• How does it out-perform human work,
• How can it save the organisation money,
