Five-A-Day
Your
assignment this year focuses on the 5 A DAY healty eating program with
an emphasis on a eating a variety of fruit and vegetables. You will check
out what other people are already eating and produce a series of publications
that target specific audiences and promote healthy eating.
Five
a day.
Everyone
should eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables every day. You
shouldn't choose the same friut either, having five apricots or five portions
of pineapple is not as good as mixing it up. It should be a mixture of
fruit and veg. If they are divided into different colour groups, then
aiming for one from each group each day is a good way to ensure a variety.
You
will create a Five A Day Check for school children and students aged 11
and over. You will create a spreadsheet to analyse the data and tell the
users whether they are keeping to the Five a Day rule.
You
will create a database called Five a Day which stores information about
different fruit and vegetable portions, including their colour groupings.
You will use it to extract useful information for the Five A Day Check
users. Users of the Five A Day Check will receive a personalised Information
Pack based on their results.
You
will create some digital posters to encourage school children to eat healthier
snacks and to try out your Five A Day Check. You will also design a DVD
cover for the short film on healthy eating. Finally you will create a
website to advertise healthy food and ways to eat more healthily.
