Floor Plans Using Visio to draw floor plans The best available program for drawing the floor plan of the shop units is MS Visio. It has a simple 'click and drag' facility that allows you to click on an object (such as a wall) on the template sidebar and to drag it onto the page. It can then be re-sized to suit. Visio has several template options. The best one to select to draw the floor plans is in the Building Plan category, and is the Floor Plan template.
If this option is selected, a new page is created and the relevant templates appear in the sidebar.
Once the basic floor plans have been drawn, fittings (such as sinks, toilets, computers, storage racks) can be added. These are available in additional templates that can be accessed by clicking on the File option on the toolbar, and selecting Stencils, then Building Plan.
